Avatar: The Last Airbender from Netflix is the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the beloved cartoon. The long-announced show, which will star Gordon Cormier as Aang, will soon debut. When exactly?

All ATLA live-action episodes will hit Netflix on February 22 at 12 a.m. Pacific Time. We’re less than three weeks away from release date. Another important issue is how many episodes the series will consist of. According to the information provided by the creators, season 1 of Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender will have 8 episodes, which will cover the story from the first chapter of the cartoon, that is, concerning the Water Tribe and the learning of water magic by Aang, the young Avatar who was found after a century-long absence. While the boy lingered in dormancy, war broke out in the world. It led to the downfall of the Air Nomads. Power over the world was taken by the ruthless Fire Nation. Aang's task is to master the magic of all the elements and end the war.

The action takes place in a world where there are mages capable of wielding the various elements, and among them there is one capable of controlling them all – the Avatar, whose task is to watch over the balance and peace of the world.

Below you can watch the trailer for ATLA live-action.
