Boxes: Lost Fragments PC

Boxes: Lost Fragments is a puzzle game combining elements of escape room games with tri-dimensional puzzles-boxes. This production was created by Big Loop Studios, a studio with many games of this type, including Doors: Paradox, and published by Snapbreak.

The plot

As a legendary thief, we carry out an assignment in a large and opulent mansion, full of puzzles in the form of chests of mysterious purpose, in which mechanical elements are intertwined with magical ones. During the course of our work, we realize that the place hides something more and we don't have full control over the situation, and solving the puzzles may be necessary to get answers and get out of the mansion.

Mechanics

Boxes: Lost Fragments design of the puzzles refers to escape room games (a game of finding a way to get out of a room or a series of rooms), in order to move on, we need to find objects to interact with the obstacles we encounter, most often also hidden behind the puzzle. In this case, these are chests, becoming more complex as the game progresses.

In the room we are trying to get out of, it is possible to move towards interactive elements, and moving to a place with a chest we can rotate the camera around it and zoom in on individual parts. Fragments of puzzles can be moved, rotated, opened, etc., and it is often necessary to find a missing cog in a minor puzzle in order to solve the next task.
